Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
This recipe is one of my all time favorites. It takes only about 15 minutes to get the batter ready and you won’t ever have to throw away those overripe bananas again! Scroll down to get the recipe and step by step guide on making this delicious loaf. Enjoy!
Ingredients
Ripe bananas – 4 – 5 large
All purpose flour – 2 cups
Baking powder – 2 tsp
Salt – 1/4 tsp
Unsalted butter – 1/2 cup
Brown sugar – 3/4 cup
Eggs – 2 large
Semi sweet chocolate chips – 1 cup

Instructions

- Mash 4 – 5 ripe large bananas in a medium bowl.

2. Sift together two cups of all purpose flour, 2 teaspoon of baking powder and a quarter teaspoon of salt. Mix together using a whisk.

3. In a large bowl, mix together half a cup of unsalted butter at room temperature and three-fourth cup of brown sugar. Mix until blended.

4. To the mixture, add 2 large eggs at room temperature preferably after beating them. Mix until well incorporated.

5. Add the mashed bananas to the wet mixture and whisk them together to blend. Then add the dry mix to the wet mixture and fold to mix using a spatula. Take care not to overwork the mixture.

6. While there is still some flour unmixed, add one cup of semi sweet chocolate chips. Mix using a spatula until evenly distributed. Preheat your oven to 350 F.

7. I used a 10 inch x 7 inch pan but you can also use a 9 inch x 5 inch loaf pan. Coat with butter or parchment paper and pour the batter into the pan. Smooth to evenly distribute. Bake at 350 F for 55 minutes.

8. Once the bake time is up, insert a toothpick into the center of the loaf and if it comes out clean then your banana bread is ready. Let it cool for about 30 minutes. Serve with a scoop of ice cream!
Cheers!
